If you have about 8 minutes to watch this, it is worth the time. The moral of the story- No matter if you have been attacked by lions and crocodiles, as long as you have friends to watch your back, you'll be okay.... Warning: A little brutal for little ones.

Now you know why thw Masai value buffalo hide shields over lion mane headresses as trophies of their yong men's initiation. And you get a hint of why we love Africa - life in its rawest and most real form.
One of the great National Geo specials - one of the reasons we are going to the Okavonga Delta. Cape Buff and Lions don't mix real well. In this video you see a Cape pulled down by four lions but the buff's skin is so thick they can't keep their three inch claws in her. Buff skin shields were actually able to deflect musket bullets during the Zulu wars. Amazing creatures - and REALLY nasty looking in person!

I thought it was interesting that they had the collective intellegnce to go and run after those lions- Pretty cool.
