VEGANS SUCK: ESCAPING THE MEAT INDUSTRY

After a long absence I am back to blogging. Mostly because after a 4-5 month hiatus- there has been quite a bit of activity on this blog on the "Why I hate Vegans" post from last year.

It never ceases to amaze me how riled up people get about what you put in your mouth- on both sides of the argument. Why the fuck does it matter? If you eat nothing but pork rinds and cheese, people don't bother you because you are on the Atkins diet- and thats okay! If you decide to eat nothing that comes from animals- then it becomes some sort of radical issue. It makes no sense.

I have been vegan now for about 3 years. A couple of lapses when I am traveling in europe, mostly because some places like Finland and France, you can't find anything that doesn't have dairy or meat in it. But for 340 some odd days out of the year, I don't eat any meat or meat products. So I am MOSTLY VEGAN (an ode to Douglas Adams, Mostly Harmless)- I feel somewhat entitled to speak on the subject.

I don't really promote veganism. I don't tell people what they are eating is killing themselves or the world. I don't cry out about baby animals getting clubbed or beaten.

I am a quiet vegan.

And most vegans, if they were really smart- would follow this example. So far I helped have turned my niece and my wife into vegans, simply by showing a good example- losing weight- being more positive- and eating good healthy food. I don't criticize people for their food choices. Change comes from within. You can't tell people what to do and expect them not to resist in some way.

Escaping the meat industry is difficult. Not buying into the protein fueled, antibiotic and hormone riddled products has a great effect on your pocketbook, outlook and most importantly on your health.

Vegans polarize people with their views. And in this day and age, where there is so much crap being thrown at us on a daily basis through the medias- the last thing you need is for somebody to tell you what to stick in your gob hole. So I understand why meat eaters hate vegans- and why they think Vegans SUCK.

I propose a new veganism. One of common sense- nothing radical or complicated- a simple message, like: "You eat this stuff and you are going to live in pain". I firmly belived this. People who eat meat live with different levels of pain they aren't even aware of- they accept it as part of getting older- which is bullshit.

Vegans have more energy- better complexions- and feel better than non vegans. There how is that for a new message?
